Vaeros certainly seems to be achieving those two objectives, I just can't see how the people of Somnius are so forgiving of his absence. A ruler who does nothing to protect his people when they're in danger often don't rule for long. But everyone I've spoken to seems willing to forgive and forget. It just doesn't make sense, with the direwolves and the, um. The werewolves.
